Online shopping is an activity that many of us do on a regular basis. (Some of us maybe a little more than others!) Today, we want to give you some quick ideas to help raise more funds for your nonprofit organizations and the cause you are supporting (or could be supporting at www.RaiseUp.org if you are not already!).

1. Become familiar with the participating stores
You can go to RaiseUp.org or the RaiseUp app and check out the online stores to see if the stores you already use are part of RaiseUp. If they are, just simply mark them as a favorite so they are easy to access! RaiseUp includes many popular stores, so there is a good chance that some of your favorites are included. Why not raise funds for your nonprofit with shopping you already do?!

2. Buy online and pickup in store
Do you prefer to do a lot of your shopping in store? That’s okay. It’s amazing how many stores allow you to purchase online and go to the store to pick up your already gathered goods! It can save you time AND allows you to raise funds for your nonprofit by shopping online. Home Depot and Walmart are just a couple popular stores that do this that are also part of RaiseUp.

3. Other stores that may have what you’re currently buying
Did you not find the stores that you’re already shopping at? That’s okay! We are willing to bet that there are stores that also carry the goods that you are buying. For example, Amazon sells pretty much EVERYTHING and they are a participating store. It is worth choosing a participating business if it means being able to raise funds for your nonprofit!

4. Get the RaiseUp button
When you’re part of RaiseUp, you can download the RaiseUp button. The RaiseUp button is a browser extension. It is a little RaiseUp logo on the top of your browser window that allows you to login simply and also is able to recognize when you are already browsing a store online that is part of the RaiseUp program. For example, if you go to Target.com on your own, a pop-up will come up asking if you want to raise funds and reminding you that Target.com is part of the program. You simply just have to select that you want to raise funds! Also, pay attention when you’re using Google to search. You will see a little note above the search results if a store is part of the program. This is only when you’re logged in, so just make sure to stay logged in all the time. No need to log out!

5. Keep the cause and nonprofit you selected in your heart and mind
We’d like to assume that when you registered for RaiseUp that you selected a cause because you WANTED to help … that the cause pulled some heartstrings. Do your best to keep that compassion in your heart. If you are supporting Vapor Ministries, stay in tune with their newsletter or social media so you can be reminded of what you’re helping. Or Eye Heart World … or Ronald McDonald House, whichever nonprofit or cause it may be. The RaiseUp program is about helping people in need and often we forget about the reason for why we are doing something. By keeping the people and cause in mind, you will find it to be more important to make the above changes so you can raise funds for your nonprofit … not just to raise funds but to HELP the people they are helping.

If you’re reading this article and not yet supporting a cause or nonprofit, make sure to register for free today at www.RaiseUp.org or by downloading the RaiseUp app.

If you’re reading this article and you are already supporting a cause, we hope you apply these ideas to help raise more funds for your nonprofit. And thank you so much for your support and participation!!
