How to pick your cause!

How do you pick JUST ONE cause with your passion to help others?! Maybe this series of questions will help you:

1. What resonates with you? Maybe you have young children yourself and really feel for orphans and children who are suffering. Or maybe you have a teen daughter who you cannot imagine being forced to trade sex for money. Whatever it may be, one of the 4 causes may resonate with you. Even though you are not living in it, you can feel compassion and want to help others who are!

2. What if you have compassion for all of them? We get it. There’s a reason we chose to include these causes when deciding how to help others. They are all heartbreaking! You could begin by reading through the nonprofits and finding the one that you would like to support, as well as the interviews that we had with each of them. You may be attracted to the specific work they are doing, locations where they operate or the needs that they have.

3. Are you unfamiliar with some of the causes? You can first do your research to better understand the problems that exist. For example, we gathered some facts about poverty on our blog, as well as shared the importance of awareness for sex trafficking. The Internet is FULL of articles and facts about each of the causes. You may be surprised to see how extreme they really are and how you can help others who are facing these problems.

4. Still not sure which one to choose? That’s okay. We’d love to support them all, too. The good news is that you can change your cause at anytime. This month you could support human trafficking prevention and next month you could support disaster relief & refugees. You can sprinkle the funds that you raise among all causes and help others as you go!
